Nikeya Barker, 46, of Bay Shore, pleaded guilty Monday, Oct. 5 to first-degree manslaughter in the death of Shurvell Rush, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. Barker previously faced a top charge of second-degree murder and cut a plea deal in the case, prosecutors said. She’s expected to get between 15 and 25 years in prison, according to authorities.
