Sleeping Child Thrown Onto Walmart Parking Lot Pavement: Police
A sleeping child was thrown onto the pavement outside a Lancaster County Walmart, leading to a man's arrest, police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Justin Martin Wagner, 41, of Lancaster, was arrested following the incident at the Walmart at 890 East Main St. in Ephrata Township at 6:58 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to the Ephrata Police Department.
Wagner had been causing a disturbance inside the store before witnesses saw him take a sleeping child from a shopping cart, lift the child into the air, and throw the child onto the pavement in the parking lot, police said.

A New Jersey woman has been charged after crossing into oncoming traffic and striking a motorcycle head-on, killing two people in Pennsylvania, State Police say.
Bernadette Ann Cobb, 55, of Brick, NJ, was driving a 2021 Nissan Rogue east on Carson Hill Road when she crossed into the westbound lane near 332 Carson Hill Road in Brady Township, Clearfield County at 4:46 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, according to a PSP.
The Rogue struck a westbound 2013 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide head-on, troopers detailed.

6-Year-Old Killed In NJ Car Crash That Injured 10 Mourned: Remembering Brandi
A 6-year-old girl has died following a New Jersey car crash in which 10 people were injured this week.
Brandi Karcher, of Delaware Township, succumbed to her injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash on Route 173 on Wednesday, Aug. 12, authorities said.
At 4:34 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 10, a Kia was traveling west on Route 173 in Bethlehem Township when it collided with a Jeep SUV making a right-hand turn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said. Aside from Brandi, nine other people were hospitalized in the crash with minor injuries, Lebron said.

Atlantic City Man Arrested For 2009 Murder: Prosecutor
A 44-year-old Atlantic City man was apprehended by US Marshals on Thursday, Aug. 13, after being charged with murdering someone in 2009, authorities said.
Billie Woods was taken into custody for the 2009 murder of David Nesbitt, a 32-year-old Atlantic City resident, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2009, Atlantic City police responded to 227 N. South Carolina Avenue and found Nesbitt with several gunshot wounds, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

More than 41,000 baby jumpers and swings have been recalled after dozens of reported injuries.
Taleco Gear issued the recall for about 41,100 G Taleco Gear Baby Jumpers, Baby Swings, and 2-in-1 Baby Jumper & Swings, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Aug. 13. About 150 were also sold in Canada.
The jumpers and swings can become unstable, creating fall and impact dangers. Hanging restraint straps and seat openings can also pose a risk of strangulation.

20 Dogs Found In Feces-Filled Cages With No Food Or Water In New York: Police
An elderly person and 20 dogs were rescued from inhumane conditions at a home in New York, police said.
The dogs were living in feces- and urine-filled cages with insufficient ventilation, New York State Police said Thursday, Aug. 13. Additionally, the dogs did not have immediate access to food or water, authorities said.
Troopers responded to a complaint about the home in Argyle on Sunday, Aug. 9 around 1 p.m., according to state police. In addition to the dogs, they found an elderly person “in need of immediate assistance due to mobility issues.”

A 20-year-old Gloucester Township man has been missing since last month, authorities announced Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Terrell Purnell was reported missing on Wednesday, July 29, Gloucester Township police said. Purnell's last known whereabouts are believed to be in an unknown area of Philadelphia, police said. His current whereabouts are unknown, and it is unknown where he may be traveling or who he may be with, police said.
