Winter Snow Forecast Released: The Old Farmer’s Almanac Reveals Northeast Regional Divide Snow lovers may have reason to celebrate this winter, but a new outlook suggests the Northeast won’t share the same forecast. The Old Farmer’s Almanac’s 2026-27 winter outlook predicts colder, snowier conditions across parts of the interior, while the Atlantic Corridor trends milder with slightly below-normal snowfall. Its national map places a cold, snowy band across portions of inland New York and Pennsylvania, extending into central New England and south through the Appalachians. Coastal areas generally fall within a mild, dry zone. Those broad boundaries cut across Daily Voice’s seven-…

New Potentially Historic El Niño Forecast Raises Stakes For Winter Across Northeast A powerful climate pattern gathering strength thousands of miles away could leave a significant mark on the Northeast’s winter. The US Geological Survey’s regional outlook points toward warmer conditions and increased precipitation, with more opportunities for coastal storms and nor’easters. Whether those storms deliver rain or substantial snow remains uncertain. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center said on Thursday, Sept. 10, that El Niño has a 75 percent chance of exceeding the strength of every event recorded since 1950 during the October-through-December period. That is up from 69 percent …
