PA EMT, Twin, Pitt Honors Student Killed In Scooter Crash
A young volunteer EMT who dreamed of becoming a neurosurgeon died after fighting for his life for two days following a scooter crash in Pennsylvania, his family and fire company announced.
Taha Chomelawala, 21, and a 2023 Conestoga High School graduate from Tredyffrin Township, was involved in the crash on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 23, according to a GoFundMe launched for his family.
He remained in critical care for two days before dying on Tuesday, Aug. 25, surrounded by loved ones, fundraiser organizers Arun Iyer and Evan Lu said.

A 43-year-old Easton, PA man was arrested and arrested after he drove through traffic control near Route 57 and Route 519, authorities said.
At 12:27 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 25, Manuel Breve bypassed multiple traffic cones, road-closure signs and a marked police car in an effort to avoid a designated detour, Lopatcong police said. Breve was arrested following a roadside investigation for DUI, police said.
