A Long Island real estate broker stole $100,000 from multiple victims after fooling them into false property-related schemes, authorities said.
Arnulfo Castillo, of Rockville Center, convinced people to invest in properties on Long Island, took their money, then pocketed it for himself, and ghosted the would-be investors, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday, June 30.
Castillo “preyed on the trust of the Latino community, using local organizations as a smokescreen to exploit families looking for legitimate investment opportunities,” District Attorney Anne Donnelly said.…
Suffolk Pedestrian Killed By Tractor-Trailer Identified Days After Collision: Police
The pedestrian killed in a Long Island car crash last week was identified Tuesday, June 30 by authorities.
Denis Hernandez, 27, was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Station Road in North Bellport, the Suffolk County Police Department said Tuesday.
Hernandez, of Bellport, was standing in the road just south of Martha Avenue when a southbound tractor-trailer struck him around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, according to police.
He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The accident remains under investigation.

Camari Isaiah Ziegler, 22, was spotted violating traffic laws around 11 p.m. Saturday on County Road 39 in Southampton, and cops tried to pull him over, the Southampton Town Police Department said.

A burglary crew accused of targeting Indian and Asian families across several states has been linked to a Connecticut home break-in after police say stolen jewelry was recovered during traffic stops in New York City.
Robinson Jean Paul Moncado-Patarroyo, 19, Yeison Estivan Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 20, Emerson Johan Rodriguez-Gomez, 25, and Daniel Alejandro Garcia-Arenas, 24, were arrested as part of the alleged burglary crew, Guilford police said.
