A holiday-weekend reset is coming after days of heat, humidity, and powerful thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service expects cooler, drier air to settle in through the holiday weekend. Saturday, Sept. 5, should be mostly sunny, with highs around 80 degrees.
Sunday, Sept. 6, will be cooler, with highs generally in the mid-70s.
New England will also turn mainly dry and pleasant. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out Saturday, but widespread rain is not expected. Beach conditions could become dangerous on Sunday and Labor Day due to an increased risk of rip currents.

Cocaine, Money Laundering Gets Two Men Busted In WNY: Prosecutor
Two West New York residents were hit with numerous charges following a narcotics investigation, authorities announced Friday, Sept. 4.
During a court-authorized search of an apartment shared by Roner Arias Ramos, 27 and Juliany Ortiz Yeje, 24, various quantities of cocaine, promethazine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were recovered, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.
Ramos and Yeje were hit with numerous drug charges, along with money laundering, authorities said. Ramos was found to be in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest, Mello said.
