Ellington Bookkeeper Admits Stealing $750K From CT Law Firm, Could Serve Decades In Prison
A Connecticut bookkeeper admitted stealing more than $750,000 from her employer, a Hartford law firm, through two embezzlement schemes, federal authorities said. Now, she must repay the victim and the IRS nearly $1 million, plus penalties and interest.
Heather Murdock, 58, of Ellington, faces up to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud and tax evasion on Tuesday, Sept 1, the US Attorney for the District of Connecticut said.
