A Hudson Valley woman stole nearly $4,500 from her employer over several months, police said Thursday, Oct. 8.
Denah R. Stratton, 35, of Ellenville, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 6 for swiping from the Tops Friendly Market where she worked, New York State Police said.
Stratton took $4,456 across several months of employment, according to investigators.

A former United States Postal Service worker who was caught on surveillance video shoving a 4-year-old boy to the ground in Rockland County has pleaded guilty and received his sentence, according to reports.
Stony Point resident Gabriel Stan, 39, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and was sentenced to three years of probation, six weeks of anger management classes, and a $1,000 fine, The Monsey Scoop reported.
Stan was also ordered to stay away from the child.

Two women were hospitalized after being struck by an 86-year-old man's car while crossing a busy Westchester County street — and the driver was then arrested, police said.
The crash happened on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and East Prospect Avenue in the Village of Mamaroneck, according to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.
Police said the driver was making a left turn from East Prospect Avenue onto Mamaroneck Avenue at around 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday when he struck two women, ages 28 and 50, who were crossing the street.

Four Bergen County men have been charged in a Dumont home invasion that left a man injured after he was repeatedly struck in the head with a knife, authorities said.

A dietary supplement sold nationwide is being recalled after testing found a substance that could raise blood pressure and cause serious heart problems.
Leader Formulas LLC, based in Tomball, Texas, is voluntarily recalling one lot of RAPTURE Preworkout powder, according to the company announcement posted on the FDA website.
FDA testing detected 1,3-dimethylamylamine, commonly called DMAA, in the product. The announcement warns that using DMAA can elevate blood pressure and could lead to cardiovascular problems, including a heart attack, shortness of breath, and chest tightening.

A Pennsylvania police officer whose death was initially described as a “sudden medical emergency” was strangled to death during a fight, investigators now say.
Michael “Mike” McGeehan, 44, a longtime Middlesex Township police officer and father of five, died following an altercation with 25-year-old Paden Edward Frey on July 11, according to the Lycoming Regional Police Department.
